It’s The ‘Kids’ Turn To Shine

In the past two days you probably would have heard reports that Monsieur Platini and his dada Sepp Blater have come out criticising Le Boss’s youth policy. Basically they both go on about how bad his policy of buying up kids around the world at a young age is bad for small clubs. Here’s the good man at a cultured left foot to explain it better. The two of them make utterly contradictory statements especially Platini and Blater opinions I think are just downright redundant.
The other big news today is TH14 former Arsenal Legend pleading with the critics in Barcelona to be more patient with him and basically stop sharpening their knives like they were preparing to behead a French cockerel. The directors over there are apparently not so happy with his recent performances and are growing impatient.
On to real football news and tonight sees Arsene take the Arsenal kids to Bramall Lane to play today; it’s another chance for them to impress and stake further claims for inclusion in the first team. The captain will be Gilberto who was widely reported in one of the red tops yesterday to have turned down the chance to play because he was ‘shocked’ to have been relegated to playing in the Milk Cup alongside the kids. Arsene has come out and denied such an incident ever happened and praised Gilberto for his professionalism. To be honest I am not surprised to hear that story was a fallacy that was cooked by some journalist with no integrity but then again who said you needed such noble ideals to work for a tabloid in the first place. Ahead of the game Le Boss has come out and praised Young Danish Sensation On The Verge Of Galactic Superstardom,,,,,,,Nicklas Bendtner has been capable of been a key player for Arsenal in the future. And that’s it really; the squad to face Sheffield will probably look something like this
Fabianski; Hoyte (J), Gilberto, Song, Traore; Eboue, Denilson, Diarra, Diaby; Bendtner, Eduardo, Mannone, Hoyte (G), Lansbury, Merida, Walcott.

That’s your lot for today. Don’t forget to broadcast this oh so excellent blog to anyone that will listen and please leave comments always appreciated. Till next time.

We Should Have Won That Game.

When the referee blew for the final whistle that was the thought that immediately sprung to mind was “we should have won that game”. We had the chances and hit the post twice with Fabregas and Bendtner missing gilt edged chances when the goal seemed at their mercy. And it seemed our catalan genius agreed with my frustration at not grabbing all three points but was satisified with the performance nonetheless. Arsenal’s performance was good if not brilliant but I thought Liverpool were a disgrace but after I calmed down a bit I decided they weren’t a disgrace but I wasn’t impressed with them at all. In my earlier post I stated that I don’t consider Liverpool title rivals and their performance yesterday confirmed for me my earlier assertion. They don’t have a strong attack and their defence isn’t that great either even though they only consided one goal against us which in part was due to Eboue, Adebayor and Rosicky having off days and even with that we still managed to dominate them which says a lot about how poor they were.

Benitez going into the game knowing his side had to win to reignite their season started the game with a three pronged attack; Torres in the middle flanked by Kuyt and Voronin. This was an unsually attacking set up by a manager famed for his tactical nous and pragmatism, from my point of view though it was a setup born out of desperation. On paper this looked like causing Arsenal problems but in reality it didn’t. All three of them were toothless and ineffective, Torres below par showing was due to been rushed back from injury and the other two well quite frankly they’re not good enough. Kuyt and Voronin first of all are not wingers, never were and never will be. Second of all the defenders they were up against Sagna and Clichy are brilliant full backs. To get past them you need pace and trickery with guile sprinkled on top,,,,Kuyt and Voronin have has much pace as my good friend butterbean and as much trickery as a Halloween witch. The whole point of that is it was never going to work. The game started out as you predictably expect it would - Liverpool charging down everything like a junkie chasing down crack with Gerrard the chief charger. Within seven minutes they were ahead courtesy of a free kick aided by a poor wall formation. From then on it was total domination with Liverpool employing a 10 man behind the ball tactic. Any manager that thinks they can protect a 1 – 0 lead against Arsenal for 83mins is out of his mind. In the 80th minute we scored a deserved equaliser, Hleb supplied a eye of the needle pass and Fabregas with the poked finish. We could have won the game but Bendtner blazed over when the goal was wide open. Arsene was pleased with the result stating that we are now stronger and he’s looking forward to the Man United game with increased confidence.

I predicted a win for Arsenal by a two goal margin, we didn’t we drawed 1-1 but if we converted just 50% of our chances we would have won by that margin but I was wrong anyway and I accept that. I would like to go into further discussion into the three players I mentioned earlier that had poor games but I am not going to because it would be pointless to at this moment. I consider that two points dropped and hopefully we’ll put things right on Saturday against the red devils.

Thanks for reading your comments always appreciated and tell people about this quite brilliant blog of mine lol. Till next time.

Jermaine Pennant Is An Idiot And Thoughts On The Big Game

Mr Pennant apparently accused Arsene in an interview of having something against English players. I don’t know why Arsene has something against English players, maybe because majority of the time they’re over-rated or when a decent player comes along they’re usually over priced ( Daren Bent) coupled with the fact that Arsene hates paying over the odds for a player or the fact that he hates spending money period or it could be that English players lack technique and skill in general which is one of the prerequisites a player must have for Wenger to even consider signing that individual or maybe he’s been put off English players because of the quite shameful actions of a certain Mr Cole. The fact of the matter is Jermaine Pennant was not good enough for Arsenal that’s why he left and add that to a number of misdemeanours he committed that finally convinced the coach to sell him. Moving swiftly on I stated in my earlier post that I wouldn’t be particularly upset if we lost to Liverpool well am going to have to take that back not after what Chelsea and Man United did to those poor sods yesterday.
Finally according to the pundits we face our first ‘big test’ of the season and passing this test will be a true testament to our title ambitions;failure means we were just pretenders after all and Liverpool found us out. Don’t be surprised to find something along those lines as headlines in tomorrow’s news of the fools and daily trash if we lose today. The way I see it Liverpool don’t have an identity as a team they don’t have something that makes them tick a footbaling ideology behind them if you like, they had one before because they were a good defensive team that played on the counter but now they seem to me a bit lost coupled with their manager’s constant tinkering which is one of their biggest problem at the moment. Whereas Arsenal FC well we know what they’re about,,,,,,beautiful attacking football that’s all there is to it simple and effective. Manchester United call Old Trafford “The Theatre Of Dreams” they can dream as much as they want I call Ashbourton Grove “The Theatre Of Magic”. I am not going to go into tactical analysis that’s just boring just watch the match yourself and enjoy it.

Leave comments and feedback always appreciated and don’t forget to tell people about my blog. Till next time. Come on Arsenal!

Martin Jol Finally Walks The Plank And Looking Forward To Sunday

Not much quality news around today am afraid so any transfer rumours you see should be treated as the science fiction they are with zero connection to facts or reality. Anyways on with it then and I was watching the Everton match on channel 5 yesterday nothing else to do I guess and towards the end of the second half the commentator said something along the lines of “Martin Jol has parted company with Tottenham Hotspur and has agreed to a severance package”. At this point I would just like to shamelessly state that never has another club’s misery brought so much joy and fulfilment to my life tis just brilliant; spuds have gone and shot themselves in the foot again, they really are a pathetic lot aren’t they,,,,yes they are.

Enough of that with the game against Liverpool ever approaching a few of the players have been saying few interesting things not least Nicklas Bendtner and the main topic of conversation been confidence, something he’s definitely not short of. Willy G not to be left out has come out backing Arsene’s youth policy not that he needed to but good to see Big Willy in good spirits after his not so supportive outbursts when he first came, yes remember that sorry to annoy you.
At the start of the season the so called experts and pundits were categorically stating that Arsenal will finish out of the top four with Tottenham taking our place. After our great start to the season this same people are now saying Arsenal will win the league most notably Drogba who said we had no chance after “Titi” left us for Spanish beauty Barcelona FC. Its Liverpool’s Alonso’s turn to jump on the bandwagon and in the process saying some rather obvious things in fact he didn’t really say much he just said stuff. My personal view on the whole is Arsenal fans have been on the bandwagon from the start and late comers are not allowed his praise is therefore deemed irrelevant and inconsequential which it is to be honest.

Going around the blogosphere throughout the week many people have stated Liverpool is our first real test and will go a long way to testing our title credentials,,,,that’s a load of nonsense if you ask me. The way I see it the Bolton game or West Ham game is no more or less important than this one it’s three points that’s on offer and if we lose its only three points it wont dent our title hopes whatsoever. I don’t consider Liverpool title rivals even with all the money they spent during the summer and now the one thing they were fairly good at the Champions League is now looking like they are going out early in that one as well. I think Arsenal will win and probably do so by a two goal margin no worries.

The Birth Of A New Arsenal Blog – Excited or,,,,, Not

First of all I would just like to state that I am not a professional journalist at all and I am not going to pretend to be one for a second; however I am an Arsenal fan and just like the rest of you arses out there I have opinions about my dearest football club and now I have decided others must hear or in this case view those opinions. I am only 18 and while my football knowledge isn’t as deep as some people they are deep enough for my insights to be meaningful. Although this blog was created to discuss all things concerned with Arsenal FC once in a while I will dabble in current affairs and share thoughts on those issues once in a while. I am a young black/African boy and this country can do and say some cruel things to us at times, the injustice of it all. Anyways your feed back over the coming days will be most appreciated in order to help this blog improve (Please be nice). New posts will be released in the mornings but because have got early morning lessons in college on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays post on these days will be a bit late.

Thanks for reading until next time.
